Motherhood Moments

If you know me, you know I sometimes share funny reels on Facebook or insta about mommin’ because it ain’t for the faint of heart! But the reality is, motherhood is not easy, and it can be tiring and challenging, and lovely all at once (and sometimes, in the same day). But, as I prepare for our upcoming motherhood minis (sign up below if interested), I wanted to share some fun motherhood moments that I enjoy with my little crew. Living in a smaller valley can have it’s perks, but it can also be hard to think of things to do with little ones that aren’t the same old routines. Here are some new motherhood moments to share with your family, especially as we move into spring break:

1) Coffee date: You can visit the Starbucks at the Commons to have a cup of coffee with their next-door playground! Another good kid-friendly place is Cultivate, located in downtown Medford. They have a dedicated children’s area with coloring pages and plenty of toys and small tables. They also serve plain chocolate milk for the tiniest visitors (it feels super fancy in a fun glass jar).

2) Hike: The Britt trails in Jacksonville are very flat, easy, and free of large drop-offs or cliffs through most of the pathways. This makes them ideal for toddlers or small children, and they are easy to turn around on if they get too tired. If the weather is nice, Table Rock is better for kids older than toddlers as it’s a bit steep towards the top and harder to push a stroller on. The Prescott Loop on Roxy Anne is stroller friendly, and perfect for getting some sunshine! All of these make for a great day hiking and getting little ones moving.

3) Painting: If you have grade school children, Rogue Art Gallery offers lots of interesting classes for kids, and occasionally you can take workshops and classes together. This is a great way to bond with your artistic-minded kiddo(s) and learn a new skill at the same time. Sometimes, there will also be pop-up classes from Art 4 Joy that you can attend together and “paint and sip” non-alcoholic drinks. These are a big hit among older kids, and are perfect for birthday parties, too.

4) Food trucks: Introducing kids to new foods is extra fun with food trucks! There are plenty of options in downtown Medford or at the grower’s market. Let your little ones choose something new and “rate” it (there are fun printable on Google to do food truck ratings as a family activity). Kids love to pretend they are chefs, and it can help them try something they may not have otherwise.

5) Motherhood mini sessions: Yes, I love the idea of doing photos with your kids, because you walk away with beautiful photos and a wonderful memory. If you are interested in signing up for our upcoming shoots, please sign up below!
