When Your Senior Wants a Non-Traditional Session

I recently did a gorgeous senior session in a series of locations that you’d probably consider “non-traditional”. This senior was a beautiful, talented, and multi-faceted young lady who had a ton of awesome interests. For her, a standard senior session didn’t feel inspired or what she wanted to showcase all the things she loved most. So, we made it work and utilized a coffeeshop, and a bookstore to bring her personality to life. It made her burst with joy, and feel SEEN. So, when your senior wants a non traditional session, how do we make it happen?

-We listen. We get to know all our clients on a personal level, and even have them fill out a short questionnaire so that we can best meet their needs. We find out what THEY want out of their session, and how they’ll use their images when their shoot is over. I love finding out their plans for the future, or a hobby that they love, so that I can bring it to life in images. 

-We scout locations and consult with you/your senior: Whether you’re the parent or the senior, we include you in the process. We help with outfit ideas, inspiration, and we find locations that make your heart sing. Whether it’s the mountains or the downtown shops, we will find JUST the thing to make your senior feel special and valued…and celebrated.

-We put it all together: We work closely with our clients to walk beside you from step one until we hand over your beautiful photos. Because of our years of experience, we know how to bring together what may feel disjointed at first, to a whole and cohesive look that will look professional and polished. Parents love that the finished product looks elegant and polished, while seniors love that we listened to them and heard their ideas!
