Crosby // Class of 2024
Nestled right in the middle of the hills of Southern Oregon, Ashland is such a charming little city known for it’s arts scene and quaint downtown streets. Ashland exudes a blend of cultural richness and beauty, and it’s also where Crozby has been leading then way during his high school years. So when Crozby and I set out to plan his senior session, we knew that Ashland would provide the perfect canvas for his portraits, and would allow us to include the places that meant the most to him.
From the moment we arrived at Ashland High School, there was an undeniable sense of nostalgia in the air. The school grounds, with its towering oak trees and sprawling fields, served as a fitting symbol of Crozby's journey through his high school years. We wandered through the campus, pausing to capture candid moments against the backdrop of familiar hallways iconic fields/courts. From the excitement of football games under the Friday night lights to the quiet moments of reflection in the library, Ashland High School had been the stage for countless chapters of Crozby's story, and these images are incredibly special.
As we made our way to the football field, the significance of our choice of location became even more apparent. The field, where Crozby had spent countless hours practicing with his teammates and cheering on the Grizzlies, held a special place in his heart. It was here that he had forged lifelong friendships, celebrated victories, and overcome challenges. And now, it would also serve as the backdrop for the next chapter in his journey: graduation.
With the sun casting a golden glow over the field (hello golden hour), we captured Crozby in his element, against the backdrop of the stadium stands. It was a time of celebration and reflection, a testament to the resilience and determination that had brought him to this point in his life (and photos with his mom were extra special and gave me all the feels as a boy mom!). I am so thrilled with how these images came out, and the way they encapsulate his high school years and the growth he’s made. Thank you, Crozby and your mom, for such a wonderful day together.
