What a wild week it’s been here in Southern Oregon. Our valley has been ravaged by wildfires from multiple directions, and hundreds are now homeless. The fires are still raging, and our tireless first responders are still fighting them, including my husband. I wanted to share a list of resources for people who are displaced in leu of traditional blog content today, so that those who want to help can do so, and those who need help can easily find it. This is not a comprehensive list, and things can rapidly change, but this is a start:

Information about the fires:

Jackson County Emergency Management
Rogue Weather

Volunteer to help:

Helping Hands International

Places to go to get toiletries, basics, essentials:

New Life Naz
Jackson County Expo
Northwest Seasonal Workers
Edgewater Fellowship (Grants Pass)
Salvation Army Thrift Store
Family Nurturing Center

Other Resources:

-Most donation sites are now FULL, but gift cards and new, in package items of socks and underwear are being accepted still at almost all locations.

-If you are in need of shelter, the Expo is full, but Edgewater Christian Fellowship is accepting people at the church. Eagle Point Community Bible is also accepting those who need shelter. Applegate Christian Fellowship has opened their cabins as well.

-You can donate items for first responders at The Growler King! They currently need: chapstick, Tylenol and Advil, eye drops, foot care, gatorade or electrolytes, pre packages snacks like jerky, trail mix, and protein bars, N95 masks, and coffee to go.
