Quarantine Maternity Session// Becoming 4
It has long been a dream of mine to capture this sweet season of life before we became a family of four. It’s a big change in life, and it’s one we are eagerly anticipating. Due to the COVID virus, and photographers being considered primarily non-essential, we had to get very creative to maintain the safety of our photographer and ourselves. Thanks to our extra precious friends, we got to have this session and I’m ever so thankful for that (thanks JESSSSS). I know this season of waddling and growing a human is fleeting and getting to snap this baby boy or girl before they enter the world is just priceless to me. For some time, we weren’t sure if I would be able to sustain a pregnancy, so getting to carry baby number 5 and meeting baby number 2 this side of heaven is beyond special to us. I’m so grateful for pregnancy and the gift it truly is.
Quarantine has been marked by waves of disappointment for me…maybe hormones make things feel bigger than they really should feel, but I have felt grief and joy intermingled. We didn’t get to shower this precious babe, Rowan’s bday was cancelled, a precious friends trip was rescheduled and my sisters and mom’s trip won’t be happening post baby, no doula at the hospital, any visitors, people to gather and love on this new babe and us as a family…In the midst of feeling disheartened about these losses, I have also seen great joy. I am thankful for a God who cares for the little and the big things that can be heartbreaking, and grateful for Him sustaining us during this time.
Thank you Jess for capturing our family of three, before we meet our fourth member!
