“Friendship is a deep oneness that develops when two people,
speaking the truth in love to one another,
journey together to the same horizon.” -Timothy Keller
With the sun beaming through the tall pines, birds chirping happily, and paragliders dotting the blue sky, this day started out just beautifully. It only got better from there, with a smitten bride and groom, and all the people who loved them. There was something raw and special about the day, with a rich and genuine celebration of their relationship and their marriage. Each person there was interwoven into their story and the seasons of their lives. I love that marriage brings together two humans with completely different backgrounds, upbringings, experiences, and scars to make one amazing concoction, and God says…okay, now you’re one flesh. It’s refining, so amazing, and crazy sanctifying, and there is nothing else in the world like it. God clearly orchestrated Kyle and Mary’s story and brought them together so beautifully. In the midst of the struggles, differences, and obstacles, God granted great joy.
The day was not only special, but exquisitely executed, and full of lovely details. There were floral robes for each of her bridesmaids, hand-lettered chalk signs, and loads of delicious treats for all the guests. Mary and Kyle, you compliment each other so perfectly, and I’m so honored to have been a part of your happy day. Cheers to marriage, growth, trials and victories, and all the beauty that emerges from your vows.

“To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of our self-righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficulty life can throw at us.” -Timothy Keller
